Soyrizo ingredients and tips

- Extra virgin olive oil: I’m Spanish, so I use extra virgin olive oil to cook most of my dishes, including this soyrizo. However, any type of oil will work. I always use extra virgin oils when possible because they’re healthier. If you don’t eat oil, just use somevegetable stockor water instead.
- Soy sauce or tamari: you could also use coconut aminos.
- Paprika.
- Apple cider vinegar: feel free to use white vinegar or lemon juice instead.
- Garlic powder.
- Liquid smoke: if you can’t find it, you could also use smoke powder or smoked paprika instead of the regular paprika. Omit this ingredient if you don’t like it.
- Salt: I used ionized salt, but any type of salt will do.
- Chili powder: this soy chorizo recipe calls for traditional American chili powder, not cayenne. Cayenne and international chili powders are usually incredibly spicy. So if you live outside of the United States, please keep that in mind. If you can only find cayenne, add it to taste until the sauce is okay for you, but not too spicy. Omit this ingredient if you’re not into spicy food.

Ingredients
- 14 ozfirm tofu (400 g)
- 2 tbspextra virgin olive oil
- 2 tbspsoy sauce or tamari
- 2 tbsppaprika
- 1 tbspapple cider vinegar
- 2 tspgarlic powder
- 1 tspliquid smoke
- ½ tspsalt
- ½ tspchili powder
Instructions
- Chop the tofu and use a fork to crumble it into bite-sized pieces.
- Heat the oil in a skillet and cook the tofu over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes or until it starts to golden brown, stirring occasionally.
- Add all the remaining ingredients, stir until well combined, and cook over medium-high heat for another 5 to 10 minutes or until the tofu is ready, stirring occasionally.
- Serve your soyrizo immediately with recipes likevegan Spanish chorizo and potato stew,vegan chorizo and potato tacos,vegan Spanish tofu scramble with potatoes and chorizo, orvegan Mexican-style potatoes with chorizo或任何需要素食香肠的食谱。

- This soy chorizo recipe will only work with firm or extra firm tofu, not soft or silken tofu.
- Feel free to use any oil you have on hand to make your soyrizo.
